Default Recommend me some wax/polish

I have a silver 2005 WRX and due to having '****ty' cars for the last 5 years, my car cleaning inventory needs to be replenished.

My boss has a Porker 911 and he uses either Autoglym of Poor Boys.

Any recommendations welcome.

Thanks

The Autoglym SRP is good but it's abrasive properties are a bit harsh so I would only recommend you use that every 6 month or so or when the paint looks tired. For "everyday" polishing I use poorboys then meguirs nxt tech wax

Poorboys products are excellent value for money and give great results^^^^^^^

Currently using the blue polish with the Carnuba wax included. Excellent results. Especially if you top it off with a coating of Dodo Juice. The little panel pots are excellent value for money.

Buy all my cleaning product off this guy on Ebay. Always excellent service and super fast delivery.

As JDM Stig say's Werkstat Acrylic kit works great on light colours and really helps to bring the flake pop out whilst offering great protection.

Zaino Z2 Z6 then Z8 always works great on any colour car and is one of my favorites.

Don't forget the finish will only be as good as the preperation. So you'd want to be at least claying the car and then polishing with something along the lines of Menzerna 203s to get the paint clean and ready for the sealants.

If you can afford it get it machine polished by somebody with the experience to do it properly, then you'll really see the difference.

If you want a cheapo wax, Turtle Wax Ice Paste is remarkably good, and it doesn't matter if you get it on any plastic or other trim as it doesn't dry white like many of the others do.

It lasts for ages and is really easy to apply. You do have to contend with brand snobbery if you use it though.

Alternatively, Bilt Hamber do some remarkable waxes:

Blue is very easy to make look good,
Now try your products on a Silver or White car and pop back,
Its very hard to get that same depth of shine on a white or silver.

Dim problem, I'll post some pics of the white vehicles I've had there just as good All in the prep. Some products work great on white Toughprep for one.

Werkstatt seriously is second to none for whites and silvers.

I bought the kit at the start of this year, and I've just about emptied the Glos and the Jett (the LSP and the QD), but I've still got half a bottle of the Prime (cleaner/polish).

With this kit, you can do one "deep clean" at the start of the year with a full detox and corrective polish, then layer the kit up for the rest of the year with alternating coats of Jett and Glos. You basically end up with a car with that "just detailed" look for the whole year.

Then 5-6 months later...

SRP is more filler than abrasive, you could use it daily by hand and never see a significant dip in paint depth...

Think Silver and White can get some good results, Good thing is they dont show as much swirls and scratches as the darker coloured cars!!! But as already said its down to the prep, Dont forget a Wax/sealent is going to protect the paintwork, so you want to spend as much time as you can making the surface as clean and sratch free as you can before waxing/sealing the paint!!!

My effort on my white Evo 6 RSX

And my Silver Evo 6 GSR
