Having owned MY07 RB320 from new, it still has the green protective wax covering the engine & parts!

This obviously has attracted loads of road grime, bugs & dust over the 38k miles i've covered (daily drive )

What i'm looking for is a Hawkeye engine bay pic, with everything wrapped/covered in aluminium foil, that needs to be..... so I know what to protect

any engine degreaser will do,prob better with a few cans of the cheaper stuff if it still has the original crpa on it,

aerospace 303 is superb,

the brushes,u can get the same ones in b@q and x s tock for £1 each, but u will need a few harder ones like old toothbrushes or harder bristles,.

will dig out a few pics when i did mine to show u what to cover
,batt,alternator,tmic,and a few others,

Good choice of products, however as above, there are cheaper degreasers which are effective. I've used the Comma one in the past. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/product...yperclean.html
Wilkinsons pastry brushes have long bristles and are great for tight places 40p each and disposable.

Theses are useful for bigger jobs

As a generasl rule of thumb think of anything that's electrical that wouldn't normally get wet through driving is what you want to cover.....this is what I do for the cars I detail - better to be safe than sorry...

With respect to a degreaser, the r222 is a good bit of kit, but if you can get your hands on some g101 by Autosmart you'll never look back - can be mixed at any ratio and works so so well....

Aerospace is pure quality and I use this all the time - lasts for ages...remember to spray it on and then leave it - go abck to it after 10mins+ and with a microfibre cloth wipe away the residue...

Oh and always carry a toothbrush with my kit....it's an essential......ha ha

Hi Guys I cleaned mine with one £0.99 brush from EBay and some all purpose cleaner, No flash stuff needed (oh and a jet washer)

There no secret trick to cleaning a engine mate its so easy. I only used an APC (G101) and a cheap brush. Any degreaser from Halfords will do.
Cover anything that looks like water will damage, I only covered the alternator and a few electrical plugs then sprayed a strong mix of apc then worked in with a brush rinsed with a pressure washer repeated and dried. You can use a engine dress after to make it sparkle

Took a couple of hours if that.

But it didn't touch the OE green wax protector, that's applied all over the engine, pipes & plastics!

So i've just been on Polished Bliss and got some http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...101-cat19.html

Hopefully this should get the OE green protector wax off!
