My dirty girl
Some of you may remember that I had a Subaru Impreza Sport and a Toyota Yaris T Sport the last time I was on here and posting in this section. Well I sold both of these and brought something sensible almost two weeks ago. I brought a 2003 '03' Volvo S60R in Cosmos Blue with Gobi natural leather.
The day after I collected the car I gave it a quick clean and claying and wax, but after doing this I new it needed a proper detail which I did today for 7 hours. Plus I did not have any tar remover, bug squish or leather cleaner. I purchased this last week ready for today.
I Started by removing the large amounts of tar that was on the front arches and lower front door with Auto Glym Tar Remover with a MF cloth. Once I have removed the tar I set about cleaning those alloys and tyres. I hosed them down and then sprayed with Megs wheel brightener and using various brushes and a MF wash mitt plus two normal buckets.
Next, I hosed down the car and then Snowed using Megs Hyperwash and a squirt of Poorboys super slick and suds. Left to dwell for about 6-ish minutes before Hosing off. Washed using 2BM, lambswool wash mitt and Super slick and suds. Hosed off and dried. Reversed into the garage to clay. Each panel I had to clay 2-3 times before removing all the bonded contaminates from the paint. I drove her outside to re-wash with fresh shampoo and water and 'sheeted' off and dried.
Time for some polish and my favorite product for the job, Auto Glym Super Resin Polish which I applied using Megs MF applicator pad (round white ones). Whilst this was drying, I set about on the leather. It is the first car I have had that has had a leather interior, so was a little unsure, but the product I used, was the Raceglaze Leather Care Kit from Polish Bliss. This worked very well and seemed to bring the leather back to life. Plus it smells nice too. Once I had cleaned and feed the leather, I buffed off the SRP using a fresh MF cloth. Next it was time to add some wax. For this I used PoorBoys Nattys paste wax red (LE) that smells of strawberries and a Red/white Lake County German App pad. Left this for about 10-15 minutes before buffing off with a plus coral coloured MF cloth.
Whilst this was curing, I added some poorboys wheel sealant to the alloys using a Megs applicator pad. Buffed this off after removing the wax from the body. Afterwards, I cleaned the windows with Megs NXT window cleaner and a Fresh MF cloth. Dressed the plastic trims with Poorboys Trim Restorer. Vacuumed the interior carpets and boot. Dressed the hard plastics with Poorboys natural look dressing and then dressed the tyres with Blackfire long lasting tyre gel.
I did not need to clean/dress the engine bay as this I did the day after getting the car.
It was a long day cleaning a car as I have not cleaned a car to this level in over a month, so I am going to be a tad sore in the morning, but it was well worth it.
I think I got a much better constancy of hyperwash -not as watery as I usually make it.

Being the 18" Pegasus as a posed to the 17", they are much easier to clean. I can get right in there behind the spokes
Thanks. The pressure washer is a Kranzle 1150T as you can see. I had a karcher before this, only lasted 18 months. These Kranzle are much better, but cost quite a bit more. But it was worth it. Much more power

Your so kind, sir. Thank you.
Your so kind PB. the PW is the best bit of kit I have ever brought...money well spent.
Thats true. I have comfort, safety and classy looks and at a touch of a button, a pure race car.

You are more than welcome Andy. Not sure I will have the i/c painted as after ordering the paint, Frost.co.uk sent me an email saying they are in fact out of stock as forgot to up date the website. They say 7-10 days.
