Question Quick Detailer While Drying ?

I used the Meguiars Quick Detailer while drying the car off tonight and found it to be very good to act as a lubricant for my drying towel and this also gave the paint finish that little extra edge to normal

I've recently clayed the car and applied Blackfire Polish and Blackfire Glaze on top, is there much difference between the Meguiars Detailer and the Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray Sealant ? are they on a similar level as I'm considering using this method when I dry the car off.... is there much to be gained ?

There is quite a price difference between the two products but are they the same size container ? one is listed as 16oz and the other is 473ml

Is this a recognised method as well ?

Cheers
Simon

Just to add I slipped up a little the other week because the car dried a little in the sun before I managed to get around it with my drying towel and I put a couple of swirl marks on it with the towel... I considering the above method to stop this from happening again.

Did you just spray the panel that was wet and then dry as normal with a towel? I didn't know you could do that.

I do this all the time - spray the wet panels and pat dry (much safer than wiping, just as quick once you get used to it). The difference between the Megs Quik Detailer and more expensive products is this; Megs is a pure quick detailer, so simply lubricates but doesn't add any more protection. The Blackfire quick detailer is actually a 50:50 mix of quick detailer and pure spray sealant, so adds more protection when you use it. This is why the detailing sprays by Menzerna, Blackfire, Jeffs, etc, all cost more - they are doing two jobs rather than one. My quikdetailer of choice is Jeffs Acrylic Glos.

Brilliant thanks Rich

JEFFS Werkstatt Acrylic Glos

Equal parts car wash and spray sealant, JEFFS Werkstatt Acrylic Glos allows light surface residue to be wiped away without scratching while exclusive polymers rejuvenate the protective shine of JEFFS Werkstatt Acrylic Jett. Designed in the Werkstatt to be fast, streak free, and safe on all non-porous surfaces, JEFFS Werkstatt Acrylic Glos indefinitely extends the brilliant wet gloss of JEFFS Werkstatt Acrylic Jett for a freshly detailed look without added work.

Looks good value Rich... and I'll try the pat dry techinic as I added a couple of small marks drying last time without realising.

Will this sit on the Backfire Range ok without causing problems ?
Also when I think of it are you able to use the Blackfire on glass as well ? I know many new polishes are multi-purpose is this one of them.

Cheers
Simon

Can I use the same method with the Acrylic Jett Trigger? Just spray on wet panels then dry with a towel?

Haven't tried the Blackfire spray sealant on glass, but I do use Acrylic Glos on my exterior glass, and the results are great. Acrylic Glos should sit on top of Wet Diamond no problem, but I have to admit I haven't tried this. However, both are acrylic polymers, so there shouldn't be any issues.

I wouldn't use Trigger in the same way as acrylic glos, simply becuase I think you need the quick detailing element to help the water flash off properly, and Trigger is a fair but thicker than the Glos, meaning you may end up with a lot of streaking. You could try it, but it's not something I would try.
