Default Wheel Arch Cleaning

I had a go at cleaning up my Arch's on my car this morning, they came up a lot better on the front than the rears. Just have a question about the rear though, do they have some sort of protector on them, as if you scratch it you can see the colour of the body work through it, or this this just thick with dirt and can be scrubbed off?

Thanks
Daz.

I found Meguairs All Purpose Cleaner did the trick for me. Diluted 4:1 it worked a treat on my arches with little work from a stiff brush

You can get it in bulk from www.cleanandshiny.co.uk

i did all mine last week

this is what i did, bare in mind mine are cleaned quite regular so they are not as bad as a 10 year old car that has never been touched

jack up, remove rims, i used TFR quite strong as a prespray to get the dirt quite loose, then 110 bar 3 phase pressure washer @ 1450rpm to get the crap off

what i was left with was the remains of a split cv boot covering the inner arches, i presprayed this with a tar and glue remover and left for 2 mins, a quick rub around with a spare cloth to agitate, then the whole lot rinsed off with the said pressure washer

"secret arch dressing" then moved onto the underside boot floor, and left the rest for this upcoming week
