On a more serious note, let's give some of these people a break.
It's their first post on Scoobynet, and nowhere does it say that suppliers can't post about new products. I know it annoys lots of people, but most companies will only do it once. It's the ones that continually do it that we should come down on.
I'm sure Hyperflow meant no offence, and their kit does look pretty neat, especially as I'm comsidering a FMI as my next mod!

I'm with Stef on this subject. We can hardly expect a new company to design, and pay up for a banner, before they've even tested the water, especially when they're not even based in the UK.

The AUS guys are way ahead of us in some areas of Scooby tuning, and we should be taking advantage of their knowledge.

Nice looking kit.
Have one question though.. the pipe work that goes from the original location of the old IC down the left side of the car... doesn't this not get in the way of the IC spray bottle on STi's, as there isn't much room there normally?

Who are the UK distributors going to be and at what costs???

Hi there...

I am intrigued by the claims of the largest surface area, etc...

Does it actually improve the overall effeciency when infact certain parts of the core arent open to an airflow.

I realise it will improve the flow through the core.. but what happens to the cooling effeciency, as it isnt being cooled (covered byt he bumper), it will allow hot air through...

Just food for thought.. I thought it would be fun to discuss

We dont have a kit for the MY94

We use tube & fin as standard but offer bar & plate core as an upgrade, core size being 600x280x90mm.

I wasnt aware of the Sti spray bottle being in the way.....you should remove it in any case as it isnt needed with a high efficiency front mount.

The core on our new kit is covered only by the number plate mount- very minimal.

 

so what sort of money are you talking about here ? that is for both designs the bar/plate, and tube/fin

well I now use the IC bottle to provide water for my direct Water injection into the inlet just before where the current IC is.

there not much room elsewhere inthe engine bar to fit the bottle, abeit a smaller one if the FMIC and pipework is fitted...

But... WI might still be required if a FMIC is fitted... WI isnt just used to cool intake temps...

With that size of core... some of it will be covered by the bumper... but its irrelevant

Otherwise... its looks a very nice piece of kit

Hyperflow Intercoolers - I have emailed you regarding some questions that I had last week - did you get the email? and can you reply to the questions!!

 

I'll say this for the kit, the dyno doesn't lie, it looks to be of excellent build, and I love the silicone/nomex piping, which is lighter than metal and does not soak heat.

But the question I'll offer up is, what is the turbo lag like with that intercooler setup?

I got about 25 emails (WRX related) to answer, yours is one of them...Im getting there...

I would say that lag has increased only very slightly....the tube & fin core is extruded (very low pressure drop) & the inside of that silicon hose is sooo smooth)its certainly worth it when you go blasting past your mate in his Top mount intercooled WRX.

 

Excellent. I had figured low internal air friction and a more efficient design would make turbo lag increases minimal.

Even though a small part of the core is covered by the bar it still still delived approx. 30 degrees C air to the engine on a dyno...there is about 10mm of core covered up top and about 15mm down the bottom.
I have a slightly smaller core (600x280x75mm) on a car over here with a 6 cyl. 3.0l engine making 403 rear wheel horsepower @ 26psi and still has temps at the throttle body of around 35 degrees C and approx. half that core is covered by the front bar. See
