Sorry need help with questions on 04 Wrx STI, ppp insurance costs and etc
Dear all,
I am sorry if these have been asked in the past but a quick search has not given me answers.
I am in the market for a 2004 Wrx STI with less than 60 K miles in standard trim.
I have budget of £7000 and I have seen a few online at dealerships such as Jperformance, Performance Union and MCD cars. Has anyone brought a car from these dealers?
Does the PPP kit add much to the insurance costs, I am 36 years old with over 10 years ncd. My quotes for a standard still is about £600.
Is there anything I should look for on the car, obviously service history, diff oils, cambelt, brakes, clutch, turbo, heat shield noises and shocks?
How good the mpg, is it noisy on a motorway cruise as I have a 2 year old child.
Is the 04 model a good model? I understand that it lacks the wide body and dccd?
Thanks.

Insurance differs massively depending on who you. Ive just renewed mine and gone with Flux. If you know what sort of mileage you'll be doing, you can 'opt' to have a 'mileage only' black box in your car. It knocks the premium down. However, if u go over ur agreed mileage, you incur a premium. I politely declined lol.
You should be looking at 25-30 mpg on the motorway on your car and if driven sensibly, definately more than 18!! Out of curiosity, did you have the 230 rx8?
Reliabilty is good so long as they're not hammered constantly and looked after / serviced regularly mate. Same as all cars really....with the exception of the 2.5 head gaskets lol

I bought a 2007 Sti from Sam at Jperformance in December. Nice and genuine fella, he does the scoobys' and evos' his dad sells the Lamborghinis' and other high performance stuff.
On a 150 mile trip back to Devon at 80 ish! I got 29mph. Not too shabby and better than an RX8 no doubt.

Same as above mate no difference between standard STI and and my 2004 STI PPP.(1st Central) I've had Vauxhalls all my days, but will never go back after having Subaru, far better and reliability far better too. Make sure however your buying the right car for your needs as as far as I'm concerned anyone asking about good mpg, on an Impreza or even what the mpg is is buying the wrong car. We buy these cars for looks power and they way they drive
