Evening one & all x
I've had a little accident at work, nothing serious at all but it has prevented me from driving for some time now, almost a month !
The poor car has been motionless ever since,i've not been outside for the same amount of time. It looks like i'll be unfit to drive for a few more weeks
In this time i've not even turned the motor over to see if it will start.
Heard numerous tales about this.. so just how long is it safe to leave, should i run it occasionaly to keep things going ? does it need to be driven ?
Not sure so any ideas?
In case this helps, it is a 2004 WRX, 55k mileage,276 after re-map,DV (i know i know) & aftermarket intake..
Many thanks peoples

No problem at all not using it as long as the battery doesn't go flat, sometimes I can leave my M3 tucked away in the garage for months on end without starting it and it never seems to have affected it.
Get well soon

The option given to me was to part with the season ticket or divorce so i used the money wisely & bought myself the car never looked back since.
I shall turn it over once they've buggered off to work & invest the money from the claim to lavish upon the vehicle.. happy days

I managed to loan a charger from a man i know who does Heli-coiling for a living,trickle charged it for a good 3mins & nothing,flat as.
Back in for a coffee & back out for a smoke, tried again & fired up no problem, back on the road...
Just stuck the washing out & its frosy as f**k here, thought i'd try it just to see & think if i'm up everyone should be,the joyous sound of a boxer fills the morning air, deep joy.
As usual you boys & girls are always there to help i wish to thank you again for help in all maters Subaru you're all stars x
By pure chance a fellow is coming 1st thing Sunday to throw a bucket of water over it for me,which is the same day as The Liverpool Tunnel Run... is anyone passing through stockport en-route ? just wondering.
Once again my thanks goes out to all of you who take the time & effort to help out the needy in the Subaru community,
Cheers Andi x

I left mine for 7-months whilst I went on a desert holiday, came back, disconnected the trickle charger and started it, all was well and still is three years later

If you do run it up then make sure you get it to full working temperature. Letting it idle is pointless. You need to get the oil temp up to a good level otherwise all you'll do is contaminate the oil with combustion by-products which can't evaporate.

Just in case, bidding on my own charger, new, on the dreaded flea bay hope i dont need it but may come in usefull for me or others. The C.E.L. reader i bought off there has saved a few £££'s.Certainly beats paying £50 a go for a garage to clear it now that was a good buy & if anyone wants to loan that just ask !!
Cheers fellas.
