Today i got offered a computer that plugs into your ecu, he sad it sits in a pod ( like the gauges) and shows you whats going on as your driving. I didnt really want to sound like i hadnt a clue what he was on about so i just nodded ! Anyone ANY idea what it is or could be ?

Sounds like an ECU reader of some sort. I'm after a single din PSi3 one.

It will tell you things like boost pressure, oil temp, water temp, air intake temp etc etc.
If it's a PSI3 and you don't want it, please let me know.
Thank you.

Could be the ecutek delta dash if it sits in a pod, or could be something cheaper like a scangauge.

I guess so, just in a different and digital format. My PSI3 that I had 5 years ago sat on top of the dash (newage 54 plate STI blob) where the clock is, and had a shroud to match the dash.

The reader unit itself was the size of a single din stereo.

I so want one of those again.com!!

Most likely a PSi3, if its already in the pod.

What year car do you have? As it doesn't work on the older classics.

found this on CADS for you about PSI3 Data Monitor

The S.E.C.S. Data monitor connects directly to the ECU port (under the steering column) so installation couldn't be easier, just plug in and away you go!

A whole host of options are available from the user interface to display any of the following data in realtime on the go:

(display layout can be custom configured)
- Battery voltage - Volts
- Engine Speed - RPM
- Vehicle road speed - MPH or KMH
- Coolant temperature - Degrees C
- Intake temperature - Degrees C (This is not charge temp)
- Fuel injector pulse width - Milliseconds
- Ignition point - degrees BTDC
- Knock correct - degrees (ignition timing)
- Lambda air/fuel ratio
- Throttle position - %
- Air flow meter mass - Grammes per second
- Boost pressure - Bar

Also features user adjustable alarms for monitoring

- Battery voltage low
- Battery voltage high
- Boost pressure
- Coolant temperature

PLUS! Records peak readings
- Engine speed - RPM
- Boost Pressure
- Road Speed
- Coolant Temperature

Finally can even display a clock!!

hope it helps

You'll be fine then.
The firm went bust at least 6 years ago, so there is not a lot of new info on the net about them.
