Default P1 whats it worth?

Hiya guys, sorry yet another what it worth thread, I have a P1 which has no tax and MOT, Needs a bit of TLC. She has 91,000 on the clock with new engine at 62,000 was replaced with sti short block. K Sport 8 pot front brakes and Rota Force alloys and whiteline rear anti rollbar are the only mods

Had her on Ebay in January and got messed about, decided i'd keep her till funds got better, But I fancy a motorbike now, so changed my mind.

Going to put a "for sale thread" up soon, But thought i'd ask for a rough idea inbetween. Been told to look for around £4200. Do you think I should get that easy enough?

The bad bits are, Front bumper needs some attention, cause she did have a frount mount fitted. rear bumper had a small split in the paint, and a few other bits and pieces to make her mint.

Photo of her.

"she did have a front mount" ??

Guessing the car was mapped at some point, was it adjusted when the top mount went back on ?

My advice would be to spend a few quid on it. Stick a years ticket on it and some rent in the window for definate. Surprising what value a bit of tax and test can add.

I did have a few modifications on her. She had a front mount with a Simtek. But i've put the original ECU and top mount back in.

Yeah I was thinking the same, But even with a MOT and Tax do you think I'l get much more than 4k. These cars dont seem to sell very well at the moment?

I`d say 4K is a decent selling price considering the wheels and brakes that comes with it, I dont think you will get a great deal more considering the tax/mot issues, Do you know what work it needs to get it through an MOT?

Handbrake needs adjusting and i got a bit of an earthing fault somewhere. The front passenger light has gone dim. Tried a new bulb but no difference. Otherwise i think she should sale through. But you never know if they going to find something else. Might be worth £50 to give he a go. Major problem is Insurance though. My main Insurance is on my Honda now. So its expensive to get insurance on the P1 aswell.

If i were you i`d get someone to look at it as it doesn`t sound much to fix it, You should have no problem selling it with a 12 month mot on it

Always wanted a p1 you have a lovely looking car. But bought and modded my classic instead but always loved the P1 my favourite impreza. If I had the funds I would have it off you straight away problems or no problem and taxed or not.

And that's the problem with the current market, people just don't have the funds for these cars anymore what with the current climate, price of fuel, insurance etc etc.
And the people who do have a few quid to spend won't buy one with no MOT.
Good ones will always find a home at a reasonable price but ones that need a little TLC have to be über cheap

That 'rubbing strip' trim piece just below the swage line... Are they specific to P1s? Or to UK cars in general?

Just that I also noticed it on leeroy's P1 too?

I take it it was a factory option though - as not all P1s have it.... Or do they?!

You used to be able to order the 'rubbing strips' for all UK Imprezas - my MY99 Turbo had them. They were black unless you got them colour coded I think.
