I really want to get one for less than a hundred quid, which is what Ive been told so far...Im hoping someone out there (maybe one of the 'garag/tuners' lot might be able to help...

Try International Lamps. They have started doing a range of sealed lead acid batteries in the region i.e. 12 Ah you describe. These batteries are used mainly for UPS applications and battery back ups in fire alarms etc. Unfortunately I only have their Fax number with me. Tell them the physical dimensions and they should be able to supply an equivalent.(I hope) I just got two 7Ah batteries off them for £25.00 all in for a computer UPS.
Fax them on: 01279442222
Hope this helps

Yeh Rs do them too, but charge more. These are just motorbike batteries though, so should do fine. As I say it is the dimensions that are critical,(after the Ah rating) because it always has to fit IN something.

Competition? Ferrucio's finest must be INCREDIBLY loud to beat a Buell. Especially one without any of that wussy standard filter/pipes rubbish.
Incidentally, what do Buell owners do with the standard parts? I've only ever seen them with aftermarket parts .... and new frames, but then that's another story!

They must get a refund on them when Buell recall every bike they've ever sold (like they did recently).
Still, Nice one Nightmare, it's the first step towards a 'proper' bike.
Mike.

Proper?? Pah - I've got a hypercharger Neither has the standard pipes / baffles / filters / mufflers etc etc etc !!!
Mind you - the bloody thing is about as flaky in build quality as a TVR. Pathetic American junk......
Thinking of geting an R6 - any opinions?

A Buell to an R6 - interesting swap. Biased opinion, I know, but I'm a bit bored with in-line 4-cylinder bikes. The R6 is awesome, but completely frantic. Stunning handling, though it's a bit too easy. Very very fast, but you really need to be in the mood - it's more like a two-stroke, to be totally honest. Weighs sod all, and really feels like it too - I thought it was twitchy, but that's not a universally held view.
I'd rather get a GSX-R750 (to be a trackday loon), the new Firestorm to be different, or even a secondhand Blade. Even with an Ohlins shock, reworked forks, Dynojet and a decent pipe, it'll still cost you less than an R6. And it'll have torque.
