Question

Tried using a rear-mounted bike rack to carry two mountain bikes and scratched the car (****! ). I want to get a roof rack that will take two bikes and will fit nice on the car without scratching it.

Any recommendations, and suggestions where to buy?

Thanks,

Father Jack Hackett

Thule !

The bars lock to the car and I've got a couple of 510 bike carriers which lock to the bars and lock the bikes on.

Best place I could find was roofracks.co.uk/.

The other good thing is that the system is modular so you can by new feet / bars for other cars and use the same accessories. The above company will also match the locks so that they all have the same key.

I just got a Thule roof mount rack for my Scooby.
Fits well, looks good.
Bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Can be modified in the future for a replacement car by just changing the roof mount component, which means you don't have to buy another complete unit.

Thanks guys, I'll check it out. Looks like Halfords stock it.

Cheers!

Halfords do have it - they're just more expensive

Thule roof bars are the best with the Giro bike racks.

We supply these (mainly because I am into Mountain Biking big style! )and are able to give great prices on them.

Please let me know if we can help.

If you have the aero bars there are theif 'proof' star bolts that fix them directly onto the bars, if you just have the normal bars they have a fixing on them whch works well too.

Question

Jamie, took a look at your website but it wasn't on there. How much are the giro bike racks?

I've also seen the "Bones" bike rack by Saris. Goes on the rear of the car and looks pretty solid. Has good reviews. Anyone on here got one?

Cheers.

The Tour 510 locks onto the roof bars - don't know about the others though.
