sva=single vehicle application(i think)its basically an mot for a car.ie you build a kit car from scratch then u have to have a sva to get it on the road.its like an mot butEVERYTHING is checked.

The reason i am asking is i am looking at the new STI. The import brokers tell me they carry out a full SVA test. I want to know if this test makes a Jap import compatible with UK fuel and will UK MOT laws apply to a Jap import?
Thanks for the post GK

SVA makes is LEGAL, doesn't change what fuel it will run, so Super/Super + Octane booster reccomended.
Yes UK MOT laws apply to the vehicle
But the SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) counts as your first MoT
cost is around £150

Thanks Paul
That helps alot my mind is being put at ease. So it will require an octane booster at every refill? Will i be able to tell if i need to add this?
Cheers

What car are you getting? as some people run early WRX's on NUL without any problems, STi's and later WRX's with higher power engines would need SUL and/or Octane boost. Have no idea about current spec cars, presumably for the STi's ocatane boost, plain WRX's could be fine on SUL alone.

You just chuck in a bottle every time you fill up
