anyone here know of a cheap Tyre outlet ?

ebay seem to have a few, but i want to try and get the best prices.

You need a higher load rating, 82 min, 87 better.
Oh and if its for a scoob, forget it, I wouldnt want anything that cheap n nasty keeping me on the road

These are budget tyres for a reason
You will have increased braking distances, reduced grip (especially in the wet) and considering they keep you in contact with the road (your life etc) and the fact that I wouldnt put those on a hot hatch let alone a scoob (though probably good on a 15 year old mondeo ).
Go for something better, yes it will cost more but until you have decent tyres you dont know what your missing (and then you wonder why the hell you ever ran budget ones in the first place )

I do have a little story about budget tyres
I crashed a works van, hit a damp patch on the road (45mph!) really terrible tyres but thats what the company wanted on their vans, anyway, rolled the car, out of all 4 tyres 3 burst, the one that didnt was the dunlop (decent one) the 3 that did were the budget tyres.

A little warning, they are not built to the same quality.

mate i run expensive tyres on my shed,,,, and the thing i notice the most is changing them every poxy year,,,,, think its time for cheepo's for me for road use

 

Tony no offence here, as you have a high post count and from your previous posts seem very knowledgeable.

But I see Toyo T1R's on the same level as Federal's and Yoko's as Premium budget tyres (if that's possible) they are really quite good in the dry/wet. Not sure how they are in a crash though, so I'll take your word for it.

I run Vredestein's on mine and am very happy with them but would recommend Federal's as a budget alternative

 

I would never class Yoko's and Toyos in the same league as Federal; Federal 595s are budget albeit with a fancy tread pattern. By the same token I would not class Vredsteins or Falkens with Toyos or Yoko's, but from personal experience I would class them a world ahead of Federals (and Khumos, LingLongs and several other budget tyres).

Vred's and Falkens are very good all round tyres and I would spend the extra on going for a better tyre, even on the family car.

tony, i agree with what your saying, of course more expensive tyres are going to be better.

however if a budget tyre manufacturer states a certain speed rating then surely they have to meet standards before they can sell them as that speed rating.

 

Its not about speed rating. the compound is harder and dosent heat up an stick to the road as good. I remember about 7-8 years ago i put cheapo tyres on,never again, i could not drive the car the way i used to with the bridgestones. Its false economy you will go through 2 cheap tyres compared to a good bridgestone.

 

Speed rating is just that. They are good for blah blah MPH depending on rating. Tony is explaining that it's the all round quality, stopping distance and quality of compounds used in the tyre.

Speed is good but stopping and grip are a bit more important.

Can't fault them so far (2mths)
I have no doubt that a higher cost tyre will offer improvements in some situations but there may of course be other reasons for the higher cost.
- brand and image
- marketing spending etc

You shouldn't be driving like a complete loony in the wet on a public road anyway and in normal situations these have done really well. Worth checking out some reviews in google. Not all budget tyres are equal. Just my opinion.
