Default SMR ENGINES

Looking for a recon engine and come across smr engines,cant find any bad feedback on their ebay account,has anyone on here got one of these engines on their scoob?
or does anyone have any horror stories about smr engines???

i do have a sound wrx willing to donate its engine but not sure i want to put it in my sti, and i've been laughed at for suggesting such a thing lol

look then up on here or google them and see what you get. Its not good.

Walk away NOW !
Do a search there are some horror stories on here, they claim the engines are stripped and checked and all parts replaced, load of tosh they are out of scrappers and they clean the blocks up and sell them on,
The owners trade under a few names and numbers also.

They are like a He-She,offer something that looks lurvly but then you get a shock when you dont want one !

i had one mate waited ages for delivery and ended up bein a wrx engine even tho i specified sti numerous occasionsons was slappy as hell and used alot of oil luckily i was only using as a stop gap and i forgot to mention in my haste putting the engine in i didnt check it over and later found the thermostat was missing

Do not go there!!!

I bought an engine off them last year looked great.

4,500miles later it's f**ked!

I put a post on here yesterday with a water problem turn's out that the HG'S have gone.

Go on google have a look at the negative feed back.

avoid at all costs! Try the for sale section of these forums mate as there is always decents engines up for grabs. What year is the sti you have out of interest?

If your after an engine, give David at API a call he will sort you out.

Very reliable too.

wow, thats pretty conclusive!!!
i can cross them off my list, an API rebuild would be my first choice because i only hear good things about them, but i just dont have 3grand.
Are re con engines to be avoided?

Mate API can source you a decent 2nd hand engine aswell as rebuilds.

You can guarantee that they do and will check it before selling it.
