If you're talking mirror image 'right' then that's an angel, if you're talking us looking at it 'right' then that's a house. The Sculpture is in someone's garden

OK -- I see the angel. What's the big fluffy grey thing with yellow stripes on it?

Carl

It's a fireman, holding a US flag. Head down in mourning.

Awesome tribute.

Oh -- I thought the yellow things on the top of its hat were eyes.

Now you see my confusion.

Question

I wonder how they got the snow different colours?
The gray is a consistant colour all over, and please no yellow snow jokes. This is a serious post/question.

At first I thought it was a real firemans outfit.. fitted onto the snow etc...

but looking I think it must be coloured snow...

Very effective...

Dunno how anyone could not realise it was a fireman.. but then strange how peoples eyes and brains interpret things differently.
No offence intended by that, it is like the strange shape paintings where someone sees a butterfly and someone else a face etc..

I'm using a laptop -- colour reproduction isn't great. I will look again when I get home and see if it's more obvious. From here it still looks like a fluffy monster (I thought it was some sort of mascot for a football team or something).

very poignant sculpture BCat.
They reckon it will take another 2-3 generations to rebuild the experience that was lost on that horrific day.

Carl - think you need glasses mate.

I think it's quite amazing, to think someone actually built that.
Like someone said I have trouble building a snowman.

Hunk - why be so miserable? Does it matter? Really?

Nice tribute - amazing skills by the creator.

Stunning.

If carl needs glasses, so do I. I only just saw the "head down" bit when you said, I also thought it was eyes.

Difficult to recognise a US fireman if you are not used to seeing their uniform, and living without a TV, that includes me.

Nevertheless, a hell of a sculpture. Hats off to the creator. Penni, thanks for posting it.

Ain't it great that it was only NYFD and NYPD and americans that died that day

yeah yeah they were very brave an all that,

but what about a tribute to the a/c pax that actually fought back.. They were the truly brave ones..

I've got glasses and a current prescription

[Edited to say it's no more obvious to me on a CRT either]

You want the sculptor to do a statue for each individual person that died??? Have you any idea how long they take to carve??

Richard
It's only a tribute nothing more nothing less and was not intended to undermine the bravery or pain or loss of anyone. No need to go off on a tangent. Simply an amazing piece of work done by an ordinary everyday person. Oh and by the it would appear that only fine wines ages well.

To the other person - my first attempt and uploading the picture did not work as my technical skills are not as proficient as yours I would expect.

Had to visit to see the sculpture. I think its brilliant!! Also, with regard to Rich Squire's comments, as mentioned above by luke, I think he is extremely dis-respectful

What a horrible man you are!!
