hi all. about a year ago, i noticed that my car was jerking around as i stopped accelerating and was told it was because of the hks ssqv. so, i just learnt to deal with it. it got worse and worse over a few months so i got her serviced and nothing changed. i changed the coilpacks, leads and plugs. i've changed the ECU to a z4 hoping the fuelling would be better. i've now gone back to oem dumpvalve. i've just bought a new panel filter and fuel filter and going to change those tomorrow in case there are some small deposits in there. but at the moment its still just as bad. my local garage who is a scooby owner himself, can't work it out either. its just really annoying me now as i just want a smooth ride, how it used to be. does this sound like an injector problem as i've done the required amount of injector cleaner with full takes of fuel. 99% of the time i use v-power unless i'm desperate and then i'll go for a 98 but never any less. i'm so baffled!! can anyone help or reccommend something?! thanks.

i had a problem with mine and found to be my main ignition wire loose under the dash and with slight movement was cutting oof power to car mine is a classic import

from what i can gather, it doesnt lose power at all. say for instance i accelerate in 2nd to about 5k and then let the revs drop, i just get shed loads of pops and bangs (thanks to my 5" cobra) and when it gets to about 3k and below you can really feel it bouncing around til it gets to a point where its time to put the clutch down and then it stops. its very rarely there on acceleration. its bloody weird but annoying. i really think its a fuelling prob.

im having a juddering problem when cold and still a bit when warm is annoying me does not like to start when cold either? ny ideas any 1?

 

i had this problem, turned out to be lambada sesnor, dissconect it see what happens. It's prob overfueling.

 

was yours having trouble starting? where would i find that sensor?

I dont know if its the same on scoobs but on my old car my lamba sensor was playing up. Got advised to remove it and clean it as it can get clogged up and once clean it will work better. Long shot but worth a try. But if its not too expensive just put a new lamba sensor on. How much are they? Anyone know?

 

It sounds like an airleak, at low manifod pressures the leak can be such that it leans out to misfire and then the fuel burns in the exhaust, the other possibility is its overfueling for some reason, but I'm struggling to understand why that would be apart from the O2 sensor (situated at the top of the downpipe, just after the turbo, short lead to a plug, just disconect and see if it changes anything).

Would it be worth putting on a computer? Maybe it will show up or can see if something or the other aint running right it should pick it up with the sensors? Just a suggestion? Another thing im sure there is probably a speed or cam shaft sensor on these somewhere it could be one of them gone faulty which would explain why everything is not in sync or slightly out.

would i have any issues if i were to remove the lambda sensor completely? obviously i'd have to bung the hole back up with something suitable. i do have a very small hole in my de-cat pipe but i didn't think this would cause a problem? i was told to expect jerkiness from going full de-cat is that true? cheers.

 

hey mate had same prob was doing same when i lifted of throttle and crawling in traffic at low speed? turned out it was my engine mounts got some from breakers and now,s all fine again
