advice on de-cat please

i have just been quoted to de cat my system how much work (time) is involved. he was going on about having to take the induction kit off blah blah blah. cheers

Might be better off in drivetrain, but say half a day? Depends what sort of mood your lambda sensor is in as well...

I'm about to get mine done next weds, appaerntly it's a right bitch to do.

The exhaust from the downpipe back is a piece of **** but changing the downpipe (with the main cat in) is the hard bit. true you have to take the intercooler off, and the bolts holding the downpipe onto the turbo are most of the time a royal pain in the *** to get off with them snapping in extreme cases...

ive fitted a downpipe twice now, no probs with the bolts or the lambda sensor, first time took me about 4 hrs, second time an hour

You WILL fail your MOT so assuming you don't get a roadside check (has anyone ) it will need to be refitted come MOT time

i passed a police van, accelerating hard in third as he was parked up, he caught a few miles later when i was in a 30 limit, pulled me told me my exhaust was noisy, told a lie , that my p1 just has the optional back box, he asked me to blip the throttle a few times, then he apologised, said it had sounded louder when i passed him and off i went, thats with a full ss system
