HAVE YOU TRIED A NISSAN MAF?
Whilst trying to find a new maf ,i came across a nissan skyline MAF sensor that looked identical to mine but £200 cheaper the part number starts the same 22680,when i looked into it i found links from scooby owners from australia and america who use them without any problems, has anyone on here tried or heard about this?

If your MAF housing is 80mm then the Z32 will fit straight on, if its 90mm then the Q45 will fit straight on. Both need a loom modification and a remap IIRC.
And guess what, I've got a Q45 for sale in the classifieds too, lol

Ask your chosen mapper for prices of remaps!
I want £75 for the MAF, £95 for MAF and loom mod if you come over to mine (near M25 J8)

By the time you have bought a MAF and an Apexi to be able to use said MAF , you may be better off fitting and mapping a SimTek...
No need for the MAF then , and its a better featured ecu.

Yep spend a grand to save spending £200 on a MAF.
Just realised the MY of car, these MAFs aren't the fragile ones so yes, £200 is pricey, but if theres no other reason for the need for a remap then £200 OE MAF is the cheapest option

Worth doing as a bit of future proofing if you already have a mappable ECU and are due for a remap soon along with other mods. Otherwise not really worth doing on its own. I fitted a Z32 MAF to my MY98 WRX with a Power FC, it's a straight fit apart from a little bit of wiring I had to do, but it did need rescaling straight away in the map.
looks like i may as well just spend the £290 on the maf ,strange thing is the maf ive got is for my99/00 and mine is a my98 so its not standard so you would presume its had aremap at some stage ,but my ecu is standard, are these remappable?
I think i paid around £80 from the dealers for mine.
ive just replaced one on my mates 99,that was the £80 insert, but the one on mine (purple label prt no 22680 AA280)is listed as 99/00 and is not the insert type ,my car is a 98 .
I have no direct experience with this. But have with other cars:
I have swapped MAF sensors (the probe bit, not the housing). On BMWs with siemens MAF sensors between the 2.5 and 3.0 M54 BMW petrol engines.
They look totally identical barring a few digits, but the ECU requires reprogramming to work with the different sensor properly. Without doing so, the engine would run and drive ok. But had issues with low speed hesitancy and aggressive engine braking when backing off slightly from full throttle.
