HELP! urgent

Default HELP! urgent

the missus has dropped my work laptop and cracked the screen, its still working fine but since its not mine i would need to get it replaced asap.

Its a HP 6720a. Im sorry if i have posted this in the wrong section, i just wanted some help quick!

is it not insured /perhaps your house insurance may cover it

unlucky .... depends on the age and laptops worth.

Normally we (I work for an IT Co) dont bother if the laptops less than about £400 as it's really not cost justifiable !!

Try HP or Google for laptop repairers. Normally (nowadays) they have to go off to a specialist repairer for the screens, every other part can be done in house or by user.

Business wise google EAF or E.A.F. they can supply spares but just asking around the office they're all saying don't bother really as it'll cost as much as a laptop ..... but worth a phone call.

that laptop was £1200 two months ago, had a quote of £180 to replace it, plus vat and delivery.

Going to go through house insurance though as someone pointed out! thanks.

Hang on, £180 to replace a £1200 laptop? I didn't know technology went out of date SO fast.

Unless the replacement is nicked?

think hes talking about a replacement screen lol if it is £180 for a whole new laptop il take 10 lol

Are screens easily repaired then? thought once they were on the way out that was that,my acer has two frigging lines running verticly down the screen,pissing me off depending what colour background the site im on has..... thought i had to live with it till it went completly?

Maybe the £180 is the excess on his home insurance policy
