Normally your Insurance company will dictate who you use.
The only thing you need to ensure is that you have the VIN window and TELL them the seal needs replacing. Otherwise they tend to resuse the original one which will produce leaks. They tend not to want to do this as the seal is £80 on its own.
I recently used Autoglass without problems and they came to my work to do it.
For more "Professional" advice contact Dave_68 (from ESC) who works for Autoglass.

The seal was one of the issues I had with RAC. To be fair, RAC said that it had to be replaced, one of the problems was that they kept on forgetting to bring the replacement seal!
I ended up getting a "Subaru" windscreen aswell rather than an RAC one on the advice of several people includng one of the RAC fitters.
"Just request a dealer part when booking the repair" Said Mr. RAC man. So I did and they supplied one.

Getting OEM glass can be a bit hit and miss, depends on whether your insurance co want to strump up for the extra the dealers charge for it. No difference in quality for OEM or otherwise (not sure on RAC glass though) as It's generally made by the same people just without the logo. Pilkington etc...
As said above just make sure it has the vin notch before fitting, not sure why some do, some don't and easy too miss when fitting (done it myself).
The "seal" is in fact just a cosmetic part which has no effect on the water tightness. The water tightness comes from the PUR (Poly Urethane Resin) which is used to bond the screen in place. This is underneath the black band round the edge of the glass which also acts as a UV blocker (Ceramic Band). As the "Seal" is only cosmetic it's more important that a new one is supplied and fitted otherwise it'll probably look cr@p...

Had a full replacement on my old classic by Autoglass a few years ago, came to my work and even bought both tints with them as the insurance company didnt specify.
1st class job!
(Car looked very odd without a screen )

Autoglass quoted me over £700 for a newage screen whereas a genuine Subaru item is only £208+vat from Subaru, and that's retail.
Your insurance company cannot dictate who to use, they will initially suggest their normal contractor, ie RAC but your are free to use any VAT registered company to supply and/or fit it.
My experience with Autoglass!
