Default Yet more jobs to India!

I work as a 3rd line systems engineer for a major UK Business process outsourcing firm. I thought my job was safe until last week when they made an announcement that they are going to completely move the remainder of my teams jobs offshore and thus make us all redundant. Previously they did move some of the jobs offshore (the more mundane tasks) but we didn't really view it as effective due to the amount of questions the offshore people ask - they just don't absorb information!

Within the next couple of weeks they are shipping a bundle of yet more offshore engineers to start absorbing our teams knowledge.

To be honest, the way I feel, I hope the company crashes and burns because they are loosing key people - they won't be able to survive.

If I refuse to co-operate I understand they can rescind my redundancy package and just kick me out.

My question is... how can effectively acquire my redundancy payment by provide the offshore staff with as little as possible?

A world leading AAA Console Games Developer (who shall remain nameless) is looking into outsourcing it's programming and art production work to India.

The consequences of this would be catastophic for people working in the games industry in the UK and US if it were to happen.

I am sorry - you are work for an outsourcing company and you are posting to complain about being outsourced?!

Unfortunate at a personal level however it is a fact of life of the business you are in.

it goes in cycles, india will eventually become a 'rich' country whilst the UK goes down the pan and is rapidly becoming an 'insignificant' power, and in a 100yrs or so, the roles will be reversed, so your great great grandchildren will be fine. VOTE LABOUR....

Well I have the job of moving a call centre out of Mumbai

Friend went there the other month to potentially move out there services and they said no way stay in the uk

India costs are rising and they will become less attractive but Russia and Brazil on the up

We have lots of Indian programmers and they are not good, the integration from a cultural and language viewpoint is just not working. Bad at documenting and very slow
