what gets my goat??
it really annoys me when people go oin about the fact that as the cars have come down on price chavs can now buy them. thats o unfair. i dont own a scooby but do own a evo 6 and its the same thing for them. so they are cheaper now means nothing. i live in bournemouth wich is 1 of the most expensive places in the country to live and there are loads of rich chaves down here. they drive skylines porches and a lad who i would describe as chav drives a rarri. and a really nice lad i know drives a k plate scooby but is alwyas being called a chav cos of his car. stop being so nobby. as the cars are getting cheaper it means people who couldn't afford to buy 1 can now and nothing else. chaves arnt all **** poor. and not all poor people are chavs so please stop tarring every 1 with the same brush.
Its strange that different parts of the country have different views on chavs, where i live the chavs round here are the young lads who stand on street corners with there tracky bottoms tucked into there socks and there Burberry caps with the peaks pointing up. So in my opinion anyone who owns a decent car isnt a chav,so if the prices are coming down that just means that a few more people can afford a nice car.The only way a chav round here can have a nice car is when they nick one.

Chav or Charv/Charver even Chavster (male) and Chavette (female) ('ch' pronounced as in chair) is a mainly derogatory slang term in the United Kingdom for a subcultural stereotype fixated on fashions derived from American 'Hip-Hop' (African-American) and 'Guido' (Italian-American) fashions and stereotypes such as gold jewellery and 'designer' clothing combined with elements of working class British street fashion. They are generally considered to have no respect for society, and be ignorant or unintelligent. The term appeared in mainstream dictionaries in 2005.[1][2]
The defining features of the stereotype include clothing in the Burberry pattern (notably a now-discontinued baseball cap) and from a variety of other casual and sportswear brands. Tracksuits, hoodies, sweatpants and baseball caps are particularly associated with this stereotype. Response to the term has ranged from amusement to criticism that it is a new manifestation of classism. [3] The term has also been associated with delinquency, the "ASBO Generation", "Hoodie culture" and "yob culture".

If you do see a chav in a scoob its nicked, how many threads is there on scoobynet now talking about how expensive these cars are to run, besides everyone knows that chavs drive corsas and novas with bean cans on the back and a giant sub system and amp destroying the back axle.
Don't you just love stereotypes, I blame the press and the fools who believe the crp they print. JMHO of course...innit like, eh? wickid!

Problem is they buy sheds. They are insured (if at all) under their parents name while they have a rusting nova sitting around for insurance. They live at home, they throw the ripspeed catalogue at the car. They have some form of low paid job and a massive credit card/loan bill and rarely bother with tax or mot.
Those are the people we are talking about but to be fair, although as pointed out some people reward themselves with a nice car and work hard to look after it. An old subaru doesn't automatically = chav/ned
