Default How many miles a year?

My work is changing....meaning loads more miles.

I bought the scoob last summer knowing I do a total of 100 miles a week for work.

Now Im looking at doing 540 miles a week.

Work are giving me a car allowance, which helps.

On one hand I look forward to driving the scoob more because I love it, relish every oppertunity to drive it etc etc.

On the other hand its gonna be hard to be happy about putting all those miles on the car - its already got 70k, and also the fact that servicing intervals are going to be reduced by the increase in milage.

I suppose I could get a second car, however extra insurance and tax may as well go to the extra servicing on the scoob.

Fuel is a pain, but I will get most of it paid back in expenses and tax relief from work.

I am just so reluctant to make the scoob a weekend car.........not sure what to do about this. I may suck it up for a month or two and see how its going then.

I so dont want to sell it !! Arrrgh.

I used to do 300-350 miles in my scoob and it did work out quite expensive even with fuel allowance, tyres, servicing etc, also dont forget racking miles up on the clock - i went from 30-40k to 50 in no time at all. I'm lucky now that i work from home and catch the train.

Sit down and work it all out, maybe a 2nd car will be cheaper (it is nice driving the scoob to work though )

Doing it now - I think with car & fuel allowance I will be ok, tyres and servicing will be more, but I would spend that on a 2nd car + 2nd insurance and tax.

After reading through the Glad I Moved On post Im leaning more towards just doing it all in the scoob - **** it - I bought it because I love it, so I will use it!

I would feel like Im cheating on the scoob if I bought a golf diesel to soak up the work miles! I'd rather spend the hours in the scoob than a golf or passat.

I'm the same! do 20,000 miles a year, but tbh I bought the scoob to drive it, and that's exactly what I do. The value will drop, that's just a fact of life, but, personally, I feel it's worth it as I'd be hacked off leaving the scoob at home and driving a micra everywhere!!!
