My bro's car needs a new maf sensor, he got hold of a second hand one a few months ago and although it was better, the car never returned to full health. He has had it hooked up and removed the fault codes a few times but it keeps coming back with maf failure.
Are there any other places that sell maf sensors at realistic prices? Im sorry but £250+ for a little sensor is a rip off imo.
Its a bug eye by the way.

 

Bugeye MAF sensors are about £70 quid plus VAT...a few years ago you had to buy half the induction pipework as well, hence the £250 quote.

I know that BRD developments sell them but as they now have an individual part number (I'm sure someone will come along with it in a minute LOL) any dealer should be able to supply.

Seeing as Nissan use pretty much the same MAFs you'd think someone would have found cheaper Nissan equivalents to all the MAFs Subaru use. But no such luck. Anyway, the later MAFs are £70 because they are just the basic sensor element. 98 models and earlier had to pay an extra £200 for a plastic tube to go with it. If anyone sold just the elements for these, they'd make a killing.

Slent running........the last time I was with Bob Rawle in Swindon he seemed to have a range of MAF's lined up ready to go in case a MAF failed during mapping.

They all seemed to be in small boxes and I wonder if the earlier MAF's are now available without the unecessary plastic induction tube.

y not just grabbed a Z32 maf sensor and convert it? It seems a better time to upgrade your afm?

Newage MAF pretty robust so I'd go for the OEM
