Default New scoob was it a good buy????

hi, i have just purchased my first scooby. I'm 23 with 4 years no claims. It is an 05 plate 2 litre turbo impreza which has done 4,000 miles. i bought it for 13,500 and got insured for 866 from tesco. Does this sound a good deal. Just wondering wot peoples opinions were on this.

cheers and thanks for reading

insurance is very very very very good. i was paying £1500 on a classic mcrae so under 900 is very good indeed, not sure about price of car.

£13500 sounds a good buy to me for a '05 car.

Do you know if its an EU import ???

Certainly cheap insurance for a 23 year old you have to have a tracker with Tesco's also

Your insurance is about £200 more than mine and I was an 05 WRX PPP, same age and no claims bonus. Try Admiral and add a lady as a named driver - makes it cheaper and they don't bother about a Tracker.

And £13500 is a good price IMO

sounds to me like a good deal around and the insurance is very cheap
standby for the ...

"you could have got a brand new sti for half the price"
or
"i am half your age, running 500bhp, with 9 points and pay 350 fully comp"
brigade....

there are 1 or 2 people like that on hear

bang goes the idea of getting rid of mine lol

that car if bought from a UK dealer will not have been under 20K.

Just out if interest, does it have the PPP or is it an SL version?

I was 23 when i picked mine up, Brand new MY05 plus PPP, i have 3 yrs NCB no points, parked on the street and im paying around the £900 mark. It was an extra £190 for the PPP mind so it doesnt seem to far away...

no the car does not have PPP... i thought due to this being my first scooby of hopefully many i would go for a standard impreza around the 220 BHP mark to be on the safe side

That insurance sounds well cheap! Im guessing theres a heafty excess?

13.5k isnt a bad price for the scoob either, I know depreciation is pretty drastic on them, but as its first owner has taken a very big hit, you shouldnt suffer too badly.

Drastic, its hellish.

Got rid of mine for exactly that reason (let it go for £14k). Running an Elise for the summer then gonna look at used S2000s. Will not be buying new (apart from maybe an S2 Exige on a PCP) ever again unless I win the lotto.

The best thing about the price is its unlikely to lose much more.

voluntry excess is 300 but i have opted to pay for ''return to invoice'' motorplan.
So if i do crash the thing i will get the car price as well as them paying 250 towards excess.
