What driver crashed the first Impreza in its debut WRC round and what round was it?

1993 1000 Lakes Markku Alen crashed on the 2nd stage, Ari Vatanen finished 2nd.

Very good Mike,I knew the answer as well but you got her first.If I remember correctly Subaru alternated between the Impreza and the legacy towards the latter end on 93.Hard luck Geezer,better look next time.What sort of work do you do for prodrive?

Kev, according to the "Impreza Perfecters" article in PC back in '96, he was the Projects Manager, although that was a good bit ago. Had a hell of a nice looking Prodrive coat as well.

According to the video I`ve just watched it was Markku Allen on the First stage of the 1993 1000 lakes rally .

Wasn't McRae still in a Legacy whilst the Impreza made is rallying Debut ?

I seem to remember the wild, car flingin' Scott had a few offs in the Prodrive Legacy.

 

The first Subaru WRC win was the previous rally in New Zealand when Colin finally missed all the scenery and actually finished.
