Lightbulb wrx imported as Gl ?

Hi,

Just got myself a WRX STi V.2 (1996)

It says on the V5 it's a GL, not a WRX STi

I've heard of this before, why is this???????

Cheers!

its easy to find out what your car model is, look at the chassis plate and do a search on the code you find maybe starts with gc8**** or similar.

hope this helps.

Probably a **** up at the DVLA when they registered it...happens quite often, you can get them to change it if need be

But as said above, check out the chassis number just incase (maybe reshelled or a bitsa)...there is a website somewhere that lists all the varients for Classsic imprezas (SIDC? )

If it said Austin Montego 1.6, then I'd start worrying

Its a common occurance; the 'GL' is the first model on the Impreza list.

That happened in 1993; this is a later STI though. The Prodrive evaluation cars were registered by IM as 1800cc GLs because the 2000 Torbo was type-approved. It isnt uncommon for imported Imprezas to me registered as 'Impreza' only too.

I recall them doing with STI's but I thought they didn't make the STI in 93?

my black wagon and my type ra were both on the book as a GL. the wagon was 1996 and the ra 95.

dont worry about it, But if you are truly concerned check the chassis number.

It says on the V5c that the model is GL and the cc is 1990cc.

In fact the Sti as all scoobs (not 22B) were 1994cc.

It's got the badges, stickers, red manifold, Sti interior, pretty sure it's an Sti!!!

I'll check the VIN number with SIDC, see what it says!!!!
