Got a cat1 alarm but no certificate, insurance want proof, help.

Default Got a cat1 alarm but no certificate, insurance want proof, help.

I recently bought a 1999 sti import, one of the previous owners fitted a clifford cat1 alarm but I dont have the installation certificate. My insurance wants me to foward a copy of the cat1 certificate......but I dont have it, nor does the previous owner, what do I do??

can anybody help?

If you know the installing dealer, you could ask them for a duplicate certificate. Failing that you can go to any Clifford dealer and ask them to confirm that the system is a CAT 1, check it's operation and supply a certificate.

As teknobod said! Any authorised alam installer will check the system for you. I had the one on my Evo done locally, cost from £40-£70 for the paperwork.

had the same cost me 50 quid for em too look and supply .depends on place but it took me two attempts and i from essex

Ozzy,

Whereabouts are you as I know a VSIB approved fitted that could probably take a look and sort out the certificate (if it is a cat 1 alarm) and sort out a certificate for less than most main companies.

I live near scu nthorpe/doncaster, there are a few alarm fitting companies around my area, i'll probably give a few a ring tomorrow and see what I can find
