Default Hi just bought an 05 WRX

Must say I'm enjoying owning it since I sold my Focus RS the other week.

Loved the Focus but the paintwork was terrible and didn't think Ford were sufficiently helpful since I bought the car new. First Subaru I've ever owned and I'm pretty impressed!

One small complaint but this is the same on most cars these days is the stone chip problem! I have a fair few already on the sideskirts and I'm not going to pay 120 quid for the mudflaps does anyone know any other mudflaps (at a reasonable price!) that I can get for the car and fit without modifications?!

Thanks

I have the same problem with the doors but don't want to drill holes to fit mudflaps......

Yes, the Ebay ones are the biz, and just £60 for 4.

I've had a couple of sets from Scott Lowe now and have been perfectly happy with them

Just the other day I saw some 'inferior quality' flappages on a P1,very very flimsy affairs that were in the process of turning green

I'm not suggesting that these were the E-bay items, but in this world ya gets what ya pays for I guess?

Are the front ones from Ebay a good fit? I bought some standard generic ones from Subaru for 20 quid and they don't fit, they have the holes in the wrong place and I couldn't get them lined up right! I'd pay for the convience of buying some that fit straight away lol

Why didn't you go for the STi? I ask cos I too had a Focus RS, and they were by far faster than a WRX, and I only got the STi cos it came with the free PPP. I had my RS Bluefin'd and I'm sure it would have given a standard STi a good run, hence why I would only buy one with PPP.
Just out of interest mate, what did you get for your RS at trade in? Mine was a September 2003 Registered, No 4496 with 20,000 miles and got £17k for it trade-in in May. After looking on different forums mine was about the best trade-in price I've seen.

I didn't buy mine from a Subaru dealer and didn't really consider a Subaru til I saw it in the garage when passing. I also didn't want to spend a fortune for a new car since I'd spent so much on the RS.

My '03 RS had 8k on the clock one owner and lets just say you got a fair whack more trade in than I got but I only paid 16.500 for the WRX so it's swings and roundabouts I suppose. But I've never heard of anyone getting 17k anywhere esp with 20k on the clock. You're v lucky!
