Wink Hero with the kids - zero with the mates

Two M3's and an M5 and nobody down my street or in my house showed the slightest interest in my cars. Now I have a Scooby both my kids love it. They are no longer interested in going in mummy's car and are forever egging me on to go faster! In addition I am given the thumbs up or a wave by most under 18's I pass.

However, most of my friends take the **** - chav car or pimp mobile being the favourites. Even my wife feels a bit embarrassed to drive it as it's too "flash". I'm raced away from the lights by every neon lighted Corsa and rep. mobile Vectra on the road and Plod think it's Christmas.

What is it about this car that so polarises opinion and at what age does it go from being cool to being naff?

Just enjoy it. **** everyone else's opinion. Faceless, soulless, Bavarian cars vs the scoob.

I suppose it depends where you live. My 11 year old son has become amazingly popular at school since I bought mine - and it's a Wagon. All his new friends say how cool it is and keep asking about it, nothing negative whatsoever.

No problems for me either - mates/work colleagues like it and only stopped once by the plod.......

Just spotted the 'location'. Nice choice of motor...
The Impreza was always a secret, now it's not. Most readers of EVO grew through puberty thinking the RB5 and P1 were (are actually ) the dogs gonads. EVO continued to generate newer Impre(t)za wannabes with every article since.

What colour did you specify for you car? Cool grey or silver with dark wheels still counts for something but Rally or Sonic Blue with gold wheels just shouts rally wannabe.

PS: Mine's blue with gold wheels. I bought it before the qudos futures crashed.

Ali, He has a type 25. Not quite what you have on the drive, eating away at you.

Who cares, they'll be making jokes at your tailpipe! Cause with a type 25 that's all they'll see. Who's laughing now....not bad for a chav car eh? etc...

Enjoy it mate.

Agree with above, I love it, my wife loves it and even drives it (although she's not found the turbo yet, bless her).

I washed it twice last week then took it to the Rally Day, cos off the weather it got a little muddy on the drive back home, and my 17 year old daughter went out and washed it last night, cos she didnt like to see 'the car' with mud on it.

Yeah you get looked at, but aint that what you spent the first 25 years of your life trying to achieve?
