Default Anyone got corroded alloys replaced by dealer?

Just wondering if anyone has tried to claim for their alloys yet?

I'm in an awkward position as my car's a Euro import and I will never go near the local dealership again...

My alloys are looking really rough - even the callipers are corroded. The car's only 18 months old and it's not like I've done loads of miles - only 7k...

If your car has a pan european warranty registered with IM in the UK then they should try and deal with it under the warranty with the european originating dealer via your local (or another subaru) dealer.

If all else fails you might have to have them shot blasted and laquered
Though I would be interested to know how they got so bad with only 7k are they exposed to chemicals or excessive salt?

I had the same problem on my previous car (Mazda 6) after a few thousand miles the wheels were bubbled all over. I asked the dealer about the chances of getting replacement wheels (expecting some hassle) only to be told "No problem" its a known issue.

My friend had the same same problem with his Celica and again was told it was a known issue, and had the wheels swapped without a problem.

Makes me wonder if these Japanese companies are using a common wheel supplier?????

Girl at my work has an 04 STI and got 2 wheels replaced with the same problem under warranty. Was a UK supplied car though.

At 40,000 miles (but still less than 2 years old) mine are starting to bubble .....
- I'm going to try and get them done under warranty!

Hmmm not exposed to anything more than a regular car...Only that I don't have a garage or car port...never used a chemcial EVER.

To be honest maybe I've weakened the laquer by power washing the wheels once a week...thought I was doing the right thing, especially through winter.

Gives me a good excuse to go gold
