Default all i wanted was a new engine...

...went to look at a turbo engine today near Gatwick, the guy on the phone the other day said bla bla bla, and said i could see the engine in the car which was still running.
got there and he lead me into his garage and said what do you think?..all it was was a pile of metal with some red and blue bits mixed into it
he said someone wanted some parts off the car so he took the engine out:mad
how am i supposed to know what he was trying to sell me?.....it did look clean though

180 miles round fookin trip

My rule: never buy an engine that's been taken out of car.

The only exception is if you buy it with the intention to strip and re-build it - in which case you only pay what its worth less the re-build cost.

I've bought too many "running" and "good condition" engines that have turned out to be shagged as soon as I whipped the sump off and had a proper look.

There are too many con artists about....when quizzed, they'll plead ignorance

What oil does it use? Have you used synthetic motorsport oil or just normal Golden syrup?
