So if a UK turbo is around 5.7 and an STi is around 4.7 (is that fair?), where does a PPP'd UK scoob figure in the 0-60 times?

Subaru quote 6.3 seconds for the MY00
Other sources say different

What is the real pace of a turbo?

Look at the SIDC web site (sidc.co.uk). They have a performance section with all the various test times. Times range from just over 5 to just over 6 - 5.7 sounds good to me too though.

Performance car got a standard MY98 to 62 in 5.05, but that was only one up with enough fuel to get to the end of the strip!!

MY 94/95/96's were clocked at around 5.8
MY 97/8/99/00's are usually around 5.3-5.5
Later STi's & P1's around 4.6/4.7

Why live with the dissadvantage of cold turbo engines and four wheel traction that are slugs from a standing start? (ooooo that's contensious isn't it tho) :-)
Go for a time from 30 to 100 and you'll kill most of the opposition.

4.6secs to 60 is a slug ????

[this will really make me popular]
According to AutoCar a Fiat Coupe Turbo is faster to 100 than a standard UK Scoob Turbo.

I keep hearing about how std STi's can do 0-60 in 4.7 secs, but have never seen one get under 6 secs at the 0-60 run at Silverstone, primarily because they seem to have to change into third gear.
They may not be launching the car ideally, but 1.3+ secs is a big difference.
Perhaps we can get a few STi's to have a go at TRAX in a couple of weeks?
Oh, and at the recent REVS shoot-out, Craig managed 4.3secs in his STi, and I managed 4.5secs in my UK car, in the wet! Both only have exhaust/filter mods. Just in case any of you had forgotten.
Maybe we'll get a 0-60 run set up at a forthcoming SIDC track day?

Fiat Coupe Turbo was faster than Scoob in one Autocar test (and they admitted that car was a crap example). According to Top Gear, What Car, Evo, Autoexpress and Car from memory I think you'll find the Scoob is faster every time
Most figures of UK scoob 0-60 are between 5.2 & 5.5 and 0-100 in 14.5s.
BTW, have you actually tried a Fiat Coupe? (a secret owner perhaps ) - torque steer city Totally outclassed by Scoob!

I have a PPP'd MY 00 (also has DEP), and can confirm that it feels a lot faster than 5 secs to 60 (more like 4.25), again tho' was done with fuel vapour and just me, and no stop watch, just 1000,2000,3000.....Did 0-60 with a friend and a watch and hit 5 dead with full tank - car had only done 2000 miles at that point so its bound to have loosened since then (now at 7500).

Agree with above comment that 30-100 is more relevant, think though that most relevant is 50-100 which Scoob is very suited to.

The only way to get accurate results is with timing gear.
I don't think anyone could get a UK car with the same mods to beat Stefs time.
Reckon a little could be shaved off mine with a decent driver though. Or a lot, depending how good the new engine is
6 secs to sixty isn't exactly a blinding time for an STi.

60 seems to be a bad speed to test the STi's at, I know mine needs a change at 57mph, but I would imagine that although the STi may be slower/the same to 60, it would be ahead the whole time, (excluding launches by those with well used warranties )

p.s. 0-60 in 9 secs for me, thats with the caterham on the back

Autocar did 4.6 for an STi IV; 5.3 for MY99, 5.6 UK WR PPP; 5.0 22B.

EVO did 4.7 for an STi V, but only 5.2 for a STi V Type R - impact of that extra gear change.

Bottom line, any attempt to get it under 5, or even 6, ***** your clutch and gearbox - isn't that right Stef

I want a Forester STI, 0-60 in less than 6s, in a TRUCK!

Oi! I'll have you know that my original clutch lasted 30,000 miles and the gearbox didn't fail until 48,000 miles.
Despite what people may think, I am not particularly hard on either when I launch, that is, I don't 'dump' the clutch.
Anyway, my warranty is up soon, so I won't be visiting The Pod quite as much, if at all. I don't think I can get any more from my car anyhow in it's current guise.
The AP clutch is worth it's weight in gold though.
