Default Be careful

You have to make the distinction between a WRX Type R and a WRX STI Type R, both had limited edition WRC models.

The STI version is superior in many ways: a WRX is taken by STI and modified. The engine is Blueprinted, has potential for more BHP and should be coloured red. The intercooler will be larger and also whilst under the bonnet should be a carbon strut brace.

The brakes, gearbox (will be a short shift close ratio) and suspension are uprated and if it's a type r there will be a DCDD as you say.

STI's will also have the rear three windows tinted, although any car can have tinted windows, this will be coloured glass, not a window film.

You say it's a W reg? Can you post the vin number as the exact model can be discered from this.

If you look at Type R corner under members gallery, you'll see a few V-LTD's.

That sounds right, they can't put ABS on cars with DCDD.

So you've done some mods?

Why do people with version V/VI Limiteds insist on calling their car a V-Limited. Drop the V, they are just called Limited (older models were V-Limiteds). Look at the plaque above... see anything on their that says V-Limited?

Sorry, one of my many pet hates

Tony.

From the WRX Limited brochure version 6 my00 :

sedan : typeRA STi Version VI LIMITED
coupe : typeR STi Version VI LIMITED
sedan : typeRA Version LIMITED
wagon : STi Version VI LIMITED

thats the exact wording from the front cover of the brochure, iirc 1000 were made of each version.

I don't understand it either Tone, but the chassis code for my car (2000 MY G-series Sep 99-Aug00) states it is a: WRX Type R STi Version VI V-Limited

I'm not sure if the limited tag means there was a limited run of a thousand?

Nice m8. Just had mine re-mapped by AndyF. Car standard except for full decat and forge re-circ DV. 1st map without octane boost was giving out just short of 280BHP and I've ended up with 310BHP.

Andy said we could've squeezed another 10 out of it but I felt it was fast enuff for me.
