fuel rails - phase 1/2
Just to confirm ... Phase 1 fuel rail is -98. phase 2 is 99/00 ? (Classics)
I've just been told that scoobyclinic say 98 is phase 2 rail .... ???
Fairly sure its not, as I've just fitted 550s with top and bottom adaptor (Pavlo kit) needed.....
I'm asking 'cos I'm selling some 480s for a 98my and I need to show that they'll fit a phase 1 rail....
Ta,
Mark

Pre 99 is Phase 1 and phase 2 is 99 & 00 only. The easy way to tell is phase 2 injector connectors are at 90 degrees to the fuel rail and phase 1 are angled at 45 degrees.
Kind regards
Andrew

Not sure about the angle thing.... All the ones I've seen are 45 degree.
Anyhow, as I thought, I was correct in that all cars my98 or older are phase 1 and 99-00my are phase 2...
Not use what the external difference is, but the lower part of the fuel rail (injector housing) is wider on phase 1, so the diameter of the injector is larger.
Here is a link to the diffinitive injector thread - 'PAVLO's info'
Thanks,
Mark

Micky - whilst thats true - I'm not sure it affects the fuel rail.... So I'm saying that I'm not sure theres a visible difference in the fuel rails....
i.e. 1.5 cars have phase 1 fuel rails, my injectors are phase 1, will fit a pre97 and are OK for 'wanted' to buy....

i have a 97wrx with yellow 440`s
steve has a 97 uk and wants to fit 440`s but has the standerds on at the moment
other mate has a 00 uk with 440`s
mine and steves are classed as 1.5
ours are the same but the 00 is diffrent
i will agree with what you said re: the fuel rails, it does apear that we have phase one rails, although it would have been nice to see a full blown phase 1 there to double check
steve bought his 440`s as phase 2 injectors
does this mean that they are diffrent from my phase 1.5 440 injectors?
im planning to borrow one from him sumtime and see if it compares with one of mine, he is getting sum conflicting advice regarding what he needs to actualy fit them.
