How much OIL when changing??

From: Ex Sti5 RA. Evo VI RSX with a couple of mods ;)
Classic STI V5. I am going to do the oil and filter just wondered what the recomended volume is when replacing it I believe the volume is the same for all clasic turbos.

There is a small reduction in the capacity of the filter JGM. I fitted one t'other week and was surprised how little oil (and how little time) it took to pre-fill it and let the oil soak in.
In any case, all this talk about needing "4.5l" or "4.25l" or any other specific figure is slightly misleading, as we know from previous posts here that some folk are tempted to simply pour in the amount of oil specified, and invariably post back here a few days later with symptoms that are obviously boost solenoid contamination.
The best approach to this is simply to say to have five litres of oil on hand, pour four (including the oil filter pre-fill) and then add 100cc at a time, checking on the dipstick til it's half way between the two holes.
Dry crank, start the engine, go for a short, slow drive of about 10 minutes duration, and check the oil level again. If it's at or just below the top hole, perfect. If it's less than half way between the two holes, top up a little til it is. If it's above the top hole by more than an eighth of an inch or so, draining a little might not be a bad idea.
