.. it would be interesting to get the figures for performance on the WR1 in comparison to the Type 25, but then again there is 4K ish difference.. Does anyone have the performance targets for the WR1 against maybe a UK STI, JDM STI (300 bhp litchfield variant that is)?? it would be interesting to know.Cheers

the type 25 is quoted as 350 "+" you notice the "+" as its more like 380 but they quote as 350 just to make sure the typical moaners dont get on their soapbox and stard complaining that its got less than the stated hp, thats more like the daddy if you want an out of the box car

The ultimate production Impreza has to be the Spec C
there is no doubting that, its got considerably more differences and upgrades over the WR1 but its not to everyones taste as its a little harsh and can be unforgiving, the ultimate non-production Impreza has to fall to the Type 25 as this has had a lot of work put into it to get it to where it is now and with 350bhp its no slouch
but the ultimate UK car will be the WR1, it will have the security of a very good warranty and dealer backup, but it will also only have 315bhp (320PS) and not 330bhp as people keep upping the power for some unknown reason

6 Pot: As Chris correctly commented, the rated output is 320ps, aka 315.6bhp or so. BTW, Rob, there's no such thing as "Japanese ps". ps stands for Panzerstuka, oops, sorry, Pferdestärke, and as such you can probably guess that it's a German originated, "European" measure of power output.

The WR1 AFAIK has a 5k interval between services, i know on my Spec C that the gearbox oil needs changing every 20000km (12.5k ish miles) so you will incure that as an extra expense (its for the A-DCCD) so overall your looking at a slightly higher servicing cost over a standard Sti type UK.

I think the T25 will absolutely annihilate the WR1
Until you drive a 2.5 Impreza you can only imagine. If you use the same sized turbo you get the torque far earlier with less lag and a far flatter profile for far longer at the top. If you use a slightly larger turbo you get a little bit of both.
With similar power and an extra 0.5 litres my car is devastatingly quicker than it ever was on 2.0 with the same turbo. But the T25 should have an easy 10% lead on the WR1, and the T25 is figured at Powerstation.
Anyone give a few examples of the spec you need to get that much power and torque at Powerstation?
Game, set and match IMHO, but we'll have to see.
