I have a Scoobysport BB on my current UK Spec Impreza and I'm sure that the Magnex I had on my old 93'WRX was a tiny bit less boomy.

Especially at about 2-3000rpm when pulling up hill.

Would I be right, or am I just getting old ?

You are right,
I just took off my magnex backbox and put on a scoobysport one as the magnex one was just too quiet !!

what mid & downpipes do you have..?

I'm currently running Magnex BB, Magnex Straight through centre and HKS downpipe..

i'm thinking about a Scoobsport BB as well, although mine sounds nice it is a bit quiet....
