There is a 80% chance of me puting down a deposit with a subaru dealership in the morning for a MY99 with 56k on the clock.
B4 I do, can i buy a car privately and get a subaru warranty? If so how much.
£9499 for the perfect car but not my perfect mileage.

I know you did not ask for my view but if I may offer it to you. The price of cars only ever goes one way unless they are very rare or highly desireble and I am afraid that a MY99 as much as a good car it is, is not in the same league as Italian exotica etc. If you can bare the wait I would say wait until the new plate comes out and their will be a glut of cars to pick from at the right miles for you. This car at the dealers is not the only MY99 ever made and if you are having any doubts just walk away as another will be along soon.

I believe you can buy the extended warranty but it depends on age, mileage and service history. Why not ask another Subaru dealer the same question in the morning ?

I also agree with STi VII though, if you have doubts, wait for the one you really want.

 

AFAIK you can only extend the warranty if it already has warranty that is about to expire (there is a very small time frame between the warranty running out, and taking out the extended one)

Also you cannot get extended warranty on an EU import

 

You could try doing a search on Subaru Uk's website - search facility isn't great but at least can allow you to see what there is at the dealers within certain distances.
Else try Auto Trader etc I guess ?

 

56k on a 5 year old car is probably below average mileage. You will pay a premium for much lower mileage. If the miles are put on on the motorway then the stresses on all the cars components are a lot less than a low mileage example where the miles are put on during weekend blasts.

I would go more on condition than bottom line mileage.

 

Spent at least six months looking at imports, Auto Trader and UK dealers before I bought mine.
Don't rush into anything, make sure you get a test drive and if it looks a bit dodgy, it probably is.
Speak to other Scoob owners to get a reputable dealer or contact.
