Hi folks just purchased a 04 WRX from litchfield imports, pick the car up next week. i prevously had a CTR, that i sold last week. i have only test drove the 01 WRX, whats the performance differences on the 03/04 models. when i am insuring the car will i have to register it as an import, even though it comes with european warranty and was sources within the EU. i am really looking forward to driving this car, the handling in the 01 model i drove was superb, far superior to the CTR i thought.

Welcome!
Best to tell insurance companies everything to be on the safe side.

Worth telling insurance its an EU Import - but it shouldn't cost any more to insure than a UK supplied car.

shouldnt being the ultimate word, however it probably will as insurance companies lately are so behind that they say import is import, you may as well drive a jdm car for same money.

Aboult your petrol question, i would run it on optimax, always ran mine on optimax only ever used bp s/ul once when i couldnt find a shell station

tell insurance but make sure they listen when you say EURO import.. because all they seem to want to hear is IMPORT.
as a UK Spec they should insure it the same.

think you will find you still can run on 95 octain if needed

Insurance will not be any different if you can prove it is full UK specification. you should get a certificate of conformity to prove this. I believe charging differently if you have the certificate of conformity is in breech of EU law?
