about to trade a 02 wrx ppp 20k miles for an sti 8 53 reg

offered so far, mine for 14500 for an sti8 25000 new, so 10500 to change

or 15000 for a demo sti 8 with no miles just that i would be the 2nd owner, so thats 10000 to change

is it worth a discount of 500 quid to be the 2nd owner

also whats your opion on the deals? do you know of a dealer who may beat this? never spent this kind of money, caking my pants tonight.

many many thanks waky

Why not get the last 53 plate - they must be desperate to get rid of then. Subaru main dealers beside me are looking for £22,996 for one with only 2k on the clock - still 3 year warranty

Just go to www.subaru.co.uk

then onto used cars at the bottom of the screen, pick impreza and all 2 litre models, you can then sort by price, type, location etc.

Think price offered for your car is quite good, but 25K for a 53 is ridiculous for a matter of months

I think the price they have offered against 25K is Crap

I have just PX'ed a W reg classic for a couple of K less than what they have offered you

Pick up the phone and find some other dealer that WILL do you a DEAL

Remember it might be better to travel 100 or so mile to save 2K

Have you tried Beechdale in Derby, always seemed very cheap.

Andrew there looked after me very well, got a good deal a few weeks ago then managed to get 12 months tax out of the deal too.

did u look on used cars subaru.co.uk? i seen a sti8 03 plate with ppp only 6k miles goin for like 23k that to me seems a good deal, i wouldnt expect to get anymore for your car then book value with a dealer, unless they are charging over the odds for the car you are buying, where they can appear to be giving you a better deal, but in actual fact its no different to them making a little less profit on the car they are selling. If you are trading your car in, expect to feel like they are taking the p-iss

jason seen the 03 with 8000 miles will call them for a price for mine in the morning

they do seem to be taking the **** first offer was 12500 they explained that the guide price to trade ins are determined by the customers not by themselve`s which i suppose is true

im swayed to the 53 reg demo with no miles at 10000 to change
To be the 2nd owner on a new car can`t mean that much as it will probably go back to that dealer at its next change anyway.

im expecting a quote of 12500 for mine against the £23500 ppp 03
but it could have hammered for them 8000 miles could mean pads tyres disks even a clutch i had a new one at 12000 also 500 more for a new car is tempting as ive never had a brand new car my wrx was a demo with 5000

thanks for your help waky

the price they offer you is governed by them trying to take liberties, and only that, they offer you bottom trade in value even if your car is mint with 1000's of extras on it. They tell you it has no extra value for having 1500pounds wheels on it, but they put the price up to sell it according to the value of the extras they just take liberties full stop. You know what your car is worth or you can get a good idea from what is for sale, i would suggest if you can sell it privately, you are looking at at least 1-2k more doing it that way if you can afford to

Have to agree - sell your car first - no dealer will want to see a cash buyer leaving without making a sale!

Cash IS king

Wakeboarder

Your trade is price looks pretty good. I sold a WRX 03/03 with 3000 miles on for £16,950 three months ago. I personally would value an STI 53 reg car but registered on the 1st of Jan at more than £500 difference. Maybe more like £750.

I have to admit to being a great fan of Adams. Bought 6 Impreza's from them. Not always the cheapest, but for me at least great service and good value.

Push them a little more on your deal. You can always get another offer in your pocket just in case. Tomorrow is a great day to deal as salesman go for end of year targets.

The demo will be OK. When you sell it, you can sell it as preregistered, plus one, so that wont make much difference in the price.

The main issue with the demo is that it is registered in 03. An 04 registered car will be worth about £750 more. Therefore if you want to save money now, ask for a bit more off the preregistered car £250 ?

Good luck. Who are you dealing with ?

jonathan we are dealing with the sales manager with short blonde dyed hair our first contact was a young lad called matt who went through the first crappy offers for the first 20 mins then we ask for the manager and was put on to her is her name susane or something may be pam the wife has just said.

if we wanted the 04 model they would not give us anything like the 15000 we want for our car
this demo car is not even on site they will have to order it but it will be only delivery miles only they assured us
they will also tax it for 12 months

is there anything else i should ask for in the deal?

thanks for your help
