Question

My local garage in it's wisdom has just removed its super unleaded pumps and i',m a bit stuck for a nearby source. I've got a few questions on an alternative lrp fuel i hope some of you can help with.

1/ Is is ok to put lrp through cats?

2/ what octane rating is it (if i remove my cat)?

3/ Is the cat the only thing that can get damaged by not running unleaded?

I can answer question 2. its 97 ron. I wouldnt use it to light my BBQ. Complete pants.

apparantly also screws up the lambda sensor

Rich,

Don't touch LRP. It uses different substances for lubrication and can potentially destroy the engine. There was a Cav board I used to read and people there said the same. If you can't get Super then use normal unleaded.

you may find that the lpr nozzle is too fat to fit in your fuel filler pipe - specifically designed not to allow it in fact (on my 00 DBM anyway)

Just to agree with comments above. LRP is hopeless stuff. MUST NOT be used with a 'cat.
In non-cat engines it tends to clog up fuel systems. If you are thinking about LRP because of its supposed octane level you could consider use of Broquet which will allow use of regular unleaded without power loss. (We sell it -
