Virus probs

Hey folks,
Can you help?
A mate is having probs with his PC and someone he mailed called him to say their anti virus said he had sent worm 32 or something ??
He has very limited PC knowledge and I have found out he saved an attachment to file before deleting the mail !!!!
It was a Questionare of some description ? Anyone know what I could be looking at ? Was looking to download the fix here and take to his tomorrow night.
