Question

I have a small (50) and gradual deployment of Windows 2000 Pro to manage. I have looked at Norton Ghost but wondered if there are any alternatives that have worked well for you?

Thanks in advance.

Agreed, Ghost, defo.

Can do over a TCP/IP link, but is also capable of booting from USB/Firewire HDD's such as Iomega's offering.

Isn't Ghost a little reluctant to do the SID mods though?

I believe that later versions of Ghost (2002/2003) have the option to regenerate a new SID, see Norton's tech support for details on this.

Failing that, Microsoft provide a utilty, SysPrep that can be run after deployment to also do this.

Roger,

drop me an e-mail, as per profile, if you are still looking for other options.

I work for a small company that might have an alternative solution to your problem - but i don't want the "commercial advertising police" to jump on me
