ECU location

This may sound a really stupid question but where is the ECU located on a 95MY 5 door WRX.
The reason I ask is that I am investigating a chip upgrade to increase power but more importantly to remove the speed limiter.
When you phone various companies to discuss this they always want to know the ECU serial number and data - hence I need to find it on my car.
I would welcome comments from any member who has already done the above conversion - with any tips or details

On a 95, the speedlimiter can be defeated by installing a cable converter. This converts the speedo to read in mph and makes the limiter 180mph rather than 180kph!!

steve you should not need to give out the ecu numbers for your imprezza its located as the lads said under the passenger side foot well ten mm bolts hold the protection plate to the floor, and behind is the ecu.
superchips do a conversion adds 40 bhp
can be ftted inside the ecu (which is neater) or externally.if i can be any more help just ask peter.
