Does anyone know if the STi lamp covers will fit on a WRX, and if the lettering on them is paint or Decals? Ta , stu k.

Yes, they'll fit, as long as if it's pre 99 model year, you use pre 99 pplates, and 99 model year needs the 99 plates.

They're not covers, though, they're blanking plates. There's nought behind them on the STis...

The lettering is decals.

STi fog lamp covers will fit as a straight swap. The logo on the covering is a decal not paint.

Charlie, is of course right. They are not fog lamp covers but blanking plates. Damned expensive they are too for a piece of plastic; even in Japan.

In response to Jay's comments above re: covers, I noticed in the True Grip last year that one guy had Cibie covers on the bottom lamps. Any idea where these can be found (I am assuming a Cibie dealer, but specific info. would help). Cheers Gents.

Neil,

you will find that underneath the Cibie covers are the Scoobysport driving lamp conversion, which consist of specially modified Cibie Oscar Plus driving lamps

I just fitted mine at the weekend, and whilst not quite turning night into day, they do make a HUGE difference to night time driving.

They not only light up the road ahead extremely well for 100 - 150 metres, but will pick up the "cats eyes", road markings and signs ahead for say up to 1/2 mile or more.

Well worth the money in my humble opinion.

John

Where did you get them, how much, and how easy to fit?

I am fortunate that nearly all of my driving is country roads, and a bit of assistance seeing where I am going would help!

Thanks John

Neil,

you can purchase these from Scoobysport (Peter Croney). Their web site is at

http://www.scoobysport.co.uk

They cost 200 pounds + P&P.

You get the two lamps with the stainless steel brackets, all the cut to length wiring, relay, lamps+bublbs and white Cibie covers and detailed fitting instructions.

It will probably take you about 1 1/2 hours to fit, the trickiest bit (for me) being the running of cables to the driver side across the bottom of the radiator (cable ties to existing loom) and up the other side.

All you need is a socket set with 10 and 12mm sockets, and a pair of pliers.
