This may sound a really stupid question but where is the ECU located on a 95MY 5 door WRX.
The reason I ask is that I am investigating a chip upgrade to increase power but more importantly to remove the speed limiter.
When you phone various companies to discuss this they always want to know the ECU serial number and data - hence I need to find it on my car.
I would welcome comments from any member who has already done the above conversion - with any tips or details

In the Dutchb version of the subaru is the ecu located under the feet of the passenger, remove the the interior carpet and metal casing an you can read the ecu number.

On a 95, the speedlimiter can be defeated by installing a cable converter. This converts the speedo to read in mph and makes the limiter 180mph rather than 180kph!!
