Pban, yes, it's fine for your rear diff. You'll need almost exactly 800cc for the rear, and around 3.2-3.5 litres for the 'box/front diff.

So, if you've got to buy it by the litre, you'll need 5 - of which you'll have some left over for topping up.

Is this the stuff for the gear box?

Castrol Syntrax Universal - 75W/90
Part synthetic
Covers 95% of all manual gearboxes,
including those requiring a gear oil to
API GL3, GL4 and GL5

If so what the RRP?

Yeah thats the stuffdid mine beginning of August,as for price I guess it varies I got mine from Castrol direct @ £9.99 a litre web addy is www.castrolclassicoils.co.uk

Is this OK for my rear diff too, STI 5 (4 door), if so am I right in thinking I need 5 litres for the gearbox, front diff & rear diff.

but not sure if the conversion fairys are playing around

i worked it out as the others did differntly

Oh and thats if you can get the bloody plugs out of the rear diff

not saying there tight but..........

I got mine from halfords £9.99 per litre

normal hypoid £6.99 still gl5 spec

and the local motorfactors were doing carlube gl5 spec

For £10.99 for 5 litres !!

i bought syntrax

Slight miss judgement, it was £5.99 per 500ml at Tesco, only realised yesterday when I went to buy it. Went Halfords in the end
