Cars imported from Japan have a different setting on their 'toe-in' than European models, adjustments can be made by any performance car dealership. Japanese roads have a different camber and also generally the cars are used for shorter journeys than over here.

Have the car's alignment/tracking reset to accept our road conditions, specialist performance car garages can do this for you, High Steet tyre companies may not have equipment or know-how, but you can only ask

Having had this problem sorted already, it may help you too, my father's car was suffering badly until it was dealt with, it was an imported car, a Honda admittedly, but the problems could cross the manufacturers

Spotted bald inners with belting showing on previous MY00, when I took a wheel off for something else!!!

Had tracking checked, replacements only lasted 7,000 miles!
Had tracking done again, also knackered anti-roll bar links.New tyres were in excellent condition at 12,000 miles when I sold it.
Unfortunately I don't know what cured. The first tracking check may have been out, as the second check was at the main dealer using laser rig, who said one side was way out. Tyre wear was OK after their check.

3 of the things that can cause abnormal/uneven tyre wear are:- bad geometry; wear in the suspension/chassis components; or tyre pressures.

My curret STi7 PPP has only done 6,500 miles but tyres are v.good with even wear.

Suggest you have the geometry checked properly i.e. a £90-120 check and work from there.

My STi7 tyre wear is very even and would agree get your geometry and bushes checked out

My fronts get eaten The Bridgestone SO3's are nearly at the legal marker after only 3K miles

Geometry needs to be adjusted. Just had mine done due to near side tyres wearing on the inside. Best to get work completed at the same time as new tyres are fitted. Adams did mine for £80ish.

Cool

Agreed on Geometry just had the P zero's changed on my UK300 lasted 22000 but the insides wore very oddly indeed.
ensure tyre pressures are consistent also.
had Goodyears fitted now and geometry with powerstation set for next weekend.

Swapped my over (frt-rear) as i noticed the wear at about 6k. I've done 14k now and all 4 tyres are as bald as a bird from shaven ravers.

The main reason for the wear on the inner fronts is the bumpsteer which is built into the Scoob. The answer is to get the bumpsteer removed and you will find that the understeer is gone and the tyres wear evenly. My tyres have done 9000 miles + since I had it done and the tyres wear dead flat. Before the fronts were illegal with 3mm tread on the outer tread. The car handles unbelievably well now too.

There are a lot of posts on bumpsteer, is is easier to do a search on it.

Wink

This seems to be a common problem on Bugeye's. My car is a UK supplied car but still I had to replace the fronts after about 10k miles. (The original rears are only just wearing out after 41k miles!!!)

Suggest corrective geometry from TSL or alike (TSL will try to sell you the lowered springs, customised cup holder and ten foot spoiler at the same time!) to correct the problem.

Mak.

You can adjust the caster and camber to wherever you like, but it will not do anything really significant to cure the inner front tyre wear. The only way is to remove the basic cause which is bumpsteer as stated.

If you check on threads about bumpsteer in Suspension using the search facility, there are several explanations without having to reproduce it all again here, and also who will remove the bumpsteer for you. A complete removal of bumpsteer and full precise geometry set-up to 1 minute of a degree costs about the same as one good make of tyre.
